Dry Lining
Stud walls, boarding out and insulated dry lining — squared up, screwed off and ready for skim or tape-and-joint.
Stud partitions are set out straight, plumb and solid — timber or metal frame, insulated for sound or heat, boarded both sides and left ready for skim or tape-and-joint. Door openings are framed properly so the doors hung later actually fit.
Boarding out covers garages, lofts and extensions, and over-boarding rescues tired ceilings without the mess of pulling them down. Insulated plasterboard on cold external walls is a cost-effective way to warm a room up while it is being redecorated anyway.
Noggins and pattressing go in behind the boards wherever radiators, basins or wall units will hang — cheap to do now, annoying to retrofit later. Dry lining pairs naturally with the plastering side of ZGS, so one trade takes the wall from bare studs to ready-for-paint.
